Man charged after Torry incident

A man has been charged in connection with an incident in Torry earlier this month.

Police have confirmed the 64-year-old male has been charged and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

It comes after officers were made aware of a man in his 30s who had sustained serious injuries during the evening of Monday, September 11.

Inquiries into the incident continue and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 2559 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you wish to remain anonymous.

The Fed will start to unwind its financial-crisis measures in October. The Fed will begin the process of unwinding its $4.5 trillion balance sheet in October by starting to not reinvest some of its bonds as they mature — that way, they’ll roll off its balance sheet.

Rate hike odds are surging. The market sees a 60.5% chance the Fed hikes before the end of the year, Bloomberg data shows. That’s up from about 20% just two weeks ago.

The Bank of Japan keeps policy on hold. With an 8 to 1 vote, the central bank kept interest rates, asset purchases and its assessment on the Japanese economy unchanged from July.

Warren Buffett says the Dow could hit 1,000,000 in 100 years. Speaking at an event celebrating Forbes’ 100th anniversary, the legendary investor says that’s not unreasonable considering the Dow was trading at 81 a hundred years back, Reuters reports.

Window seal comes loose during North Sea helicopter flight

A helicopter operator has said that an external seal on a window came loose during a flight to a North Sea platform.

Bristow Helicopters said the window remained in place and that none of the passengers were harmed.

The Leonardo-manufactured AW189 aircraft was on route to the Forties Charlie platform yesterday morning when the flaw was detected.
