Family of Chris Kaba demand justice after watching final moments of son’s life

Chris Kaba’s mother has renewed her call for ‘justice’ after watching the bodycam footage of his fatal shooting.

The unarmed black man was killed with a single bullet by a Metropolitan Police officer after a car chase in Streatham Hill, south London, earlier this month.

His Audi was hemmed in by two police vehicles in a narrow residential street, and one round was fired from a police weapon.

The firearms officer involved in the killing of the 24-year-old was suspended and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is now investigating.

Yesterday, his family were shown the bodycam footage of the shooting during a meeting with the Met Police commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, and IOPC director general Michael Lockwood.

Mr Kaba’s mother, Helen Nkama, told Sky News afterwards: ‘My heart is already broken.

‘What I want is justice to be done, and the truth. That’s what I want for Chris. I need the truth.’
