How to post 3D photos on your iPhone to Facebook, using Portrait Mode on certain iPhone models

You can post 3D photos on your iPhone to Facebook — but you’ll currently need an iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, or XS Max.
To post 3D photos, you must like the Facebook 360 page on the mobile app. Facebook will then allow you to upload any Portrait Mode photos taken on your iPhone and turn them into 3D photos.

In 2018, Facebook rolled out the ability to post 3D photos from your iPhone using Facebook’s iOS app.

Before you get too excited, note that this currently only works with the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, or XS Max.

The feature takes advantage of the double cameras in Apple’s flagship models, allowing you to quickly and easily post unique, memorable pictures.

How to post 3D photos on your iPhone to Facebook

Again, make sure your phone is an iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, or XS Max. Otherwise you won’t be able to use Portrait Mode to capture the required picture file and upload it to Facebook’s app.

1. Open the Facebook app.

2. If you haven’t already liked Facebook 360, find the page and like it.

3. You will likely have to close and reopen the Facebook app before posting your 3D photo.
