The Rockies reinstated reliever Adam Ottavino from the disabled list Wednesday, a move that should help short up a Colorado bullpen that’s taken a beating as of late.
Ottavino, who went on the disabled list with a sore oblique May 28, leads the team with a 0.95 ERA and 0.64 WHIP in 28.1 innings this season. He, along with closer Wade Davis, have been the lone linchpins among the Colorado relievers.
With the move, Colorado optioned left-handed pitcher Jerry Vasto to Triple-A Albuquerque. Vasto, 26, made one appearance with a 40.50 ERA with the Rockies this year.
