Carrie Underwood shines in first full concert since accident

Carrie Underwood returned to the stage on Wednesday night at the JaM Cellars Ballroom at Napa Valley Opera House.

The performance, which was part of the Live in the Vineyard Goes Country (LITVGC) music series, was Underwood’s first full concert since her well-publicized accident in November, which reportedly left her with a broken wrist and in need of 40 stitches to her face.

The gig followed a number of other shorter performances, such as at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville over the weekend, as Underwood begins to embrace the spotlight after shying away from attention for months while she recovered from her injuries.

She sounded strong as she ran through 10-plus-song set, which included such fan favorites as “Before He Cheats,” “Church Bells,” “Wasted,” “Jesus Take the Wheel” and, best of all, “Something in the Water.”

She didn’t mention her injuries or accident to the crowd, but rather stuck to typical stage banter.
