Man shot in East Oakland


OAKLAND — A man was shot Wednesday morning in East Oakland, police said.

The man was in stable condition with a wound above his waist.

He was shot about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday as he walked in the area of 85th and Railroad avenues.

The gunman was also on the street, police said.

The wounded man was driven by a friend to a hospital.

Police don’t have a motive yet for the shooting and have not made any arrests.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
