Nose tackle Domata Peko missed practice Friday due to illness and is one of five Broncos listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
“He should be fine for the ballgame,” Broncos coach Vance Joseph said of Peko. “He went home (Friday). He’s not feeling good. It’s been two days now. But he’ll be fine for the game.”
Tight end Jeff Heuerman (knee), linebacker Shane Ray (wrist/ankle), defensive end Adam Gotsis (ankle) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) are also listed as questionable. Joseph said all four of those players participated in practice Friday.
Peko has made 122 consecutive starts, the longest active streak among NFL defensive linemen.

“We tried to mix it up and show them different guys back there, just for different looks,” special teams coach Brock Olivo said. “But we have complete confidence in (Taylor) that he can return it, as well. But it was good to have Emmanuel back there because he’s done it in the past; he’s a veteran guy. He does that have extra gear.”
Olivo said he and Joseph will settle on this week’s pecking order at the punt return position before Sunday’s game.
No ordinary practice. Joseph said that several dust-ups that occurred in practice Thursday were the result of “guys competing and wanting to win.”
“It was competitive yesterday for a Thanksgiving practice,” the coach said. “That was my first time experiencing that kind of practice on Thanksgiving, but that speaks to our guys wanting to win and how hard they’ve worked. It was fun to see, …read more
