Tail of hurricane prompts North-east weather warning

A weather warning has been issued for the North-east.

The Met Office have released a yellow alert for wind in Aberdeen and south Aberdeenshire.

It is expected strong winds will hit the region between midnight and 6pm on Tuesday.

The tail end of Hurricane Opehlia is due to hit the region on Tuesday and may cause disruption to road, rail, air and ferry services.

The forecaster warns there is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, and mobile phone coverage may be affected.
