Surrey RCMP investigating shots fired overnight in Newton area


Surrey RCMP officers are investigating in the Newton area of Surrey this morning after a report of gun shots fired late Thursday night.

Mounties say shortly after 10 p.m., a caller reported shots being fired in the 6100-block of 150th Street.

No victims were located.

Officers are searching the neighbourhood and speaking with witnesses to obtain information.

RCMP say two vehicles, a white pickup truck and a dark-coloured sedan, were stopped on the road. Occupants of the two cars were speaking to each other, when a dark-coloured SUV pulled up, and shot at the other two vehicles.

The SUV was last seen heading southbound on 150th Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
