PHOTOS: The Corpus Christi storm of 1919

On Sept. 14, 1919 a major storm hit Corpus Christi, Texas, causing fatalities and destruction of property. According to the National Weather Service, there were 100 mph winds and a 16-foot storm surge. Estimates put the death toll between 100 and 600 people. There were stories of bodies washing up on shore the next day covered in crude oil.
