This sounds like a completely normal, run-of-the-mill situation.
The NFL saw its number of Watts rise from one to two on Friday as Houston Texans star J.J. Watt’s brother, T.J., made his debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The younger Watt looked stellar in his first NFL appearance, registering two sacks in the Steelers’ pre-season win over the New York Giants.
J.J. unfortunately missed his brother’s game as he was in a meeting at the time. Luckily, he got tipped off to the breakout debut by a friend:
“I came out of my meeting and I actually had a text on my phone,” Watt said on Saturday, according to Fox 26’s Mark Berman. “And the first text I saw – it was the most crazy thing in the world – … it said ‘See your little bro out there balling. Hope all is well.’
“And I look, and I was like ‘That was from Kendrick Lamar.’”

“I just thought that was like the craziest thing in the world,” Watt said. “To see one of the best rappers in the world, possibly the best rapper in the world, texting me about my little brother.”
The veteran defensive end also had some kind words to say about his baby brother, who was brought in by the Steelers as the 30th-overall pick in the 2017 draft.
“It was such an awesome moment to see him go out there and do what he does,” Watt said. “I mean he’s a great football player. I’m very excited to watch him play. He’s worked so hard. He’s overcome a lot in his career.”
